Hubby Frank's Birthday!

Frank's birthday was December 6th. I gave his card to him a day EARLY, because we went to Atlantic City on the 6th overnight. I totally forgot to post his card!

I digitally colored the image from Kenny K. The plaid DP is a digital paper from Bearly Mine Designs. I love their digital papers! The sentiment is a digital image from Doodle Pantry. I finished the card with brown dew drops at opposite corners.

Evelyn's 100th Birthday!

Yes that's right, my friend Evelyn will be 100 years young on December 22nd! There are some people you meet in life that even though you haven't seen them in years, you still keep in touch with them. I met Evelyn in 1975 at a job that lasted until 1992. She was in the front office as a multi-tasker secretary. The sweetest person you could ever meet and always had a smile on her face. Never once had I heard any gossip or bad words from her in all the time we worked together. We stayed in touch and every year we send birthday cards and Christmas cards to each other. The last couple of years she has called me to chat a little, and her only medical issue is osteoporosis that she needs a walker to get around, and maybe a little hard of hearing. Normally I would make a humorous card for her about getting older, but made something entirely different for her. I have a lot of ATC's from swaps I've been in at CDAC, and came upon this gorgeous one made by Sarah Miller for a Vintage swap. I added a soft pink CS behind it, then mounted it on some musical DP. I distressed the edges of the base card with a Tim Holtz distressed inkpad. I finished with only adding 2 small pearls at opposite corners. I don't want to overdo the card, it's pretty as is.

CDAC Progressive-8 Fish in Love

This is my second entry for the Progressive challenge. The image is from McMahon Five Designs. The globe image is from my sister Pattie of Pattie's Creations. I digitally colored and combined both images, then handcut after printing out. The cute little red fish and the red hearts are picture tubes, an effect in my Corel program. The pretty fish looked lonely, so that's why I added some company for her! My DP is digitally created from me also. A scalloped diecut with my sentiment, and some blue gemstones complete my creation.

CDAC Progressive-8 Doggie Treats

Today I've made 3 doggie treat bags. They are going to Remmy, Casey, and Max from our doggie Candee. This image from Just Some Lines is so adorable. His name is Bakster, how cute!

I digitally colored all tags. Remmy's was hand cut and raised with foam dots for dimension onto DP with doggie paw prints. I put some black glitter on the noses. I think they'll love the treats, all natural of course, and they are Candee's favorite goodies!

Christmas ATC Swap #16

When we made ATC's for the Vintage Christmas Swap #12 at CDAC, we had to include 2 ATC bases with DP as the extras for each ATC. I had made a total of 36 extras, so when it came time to signup for Swap #16, I had to signup for 4 groups of 9 swappers. So, when they arrived in the mail, they were all different. There might have been a few that there were 2 the same, but not many. I chose 9 images that I had previously digitally colored, so all I had to do was print them out 4 times. I also used some pre-colored images from Fred She Said, Doodle Pantry, and Clear Dollar. But then I still had to cut all of them apart, pick a base that they would go okay with, adhere them, and add some bling or embellishments. We also had to include some kind of bling in each ATC. Yep, that's right, I had to supply bling for 36 ATC's. The following photos have the artist's names below the image.

This swap was hosted again by Chris Hanselman.

I didn't take photos of all of them, since there were some duplicates, or some that were pretty darn close in looks. This is my last Swap of the year, unless I finish my Christmas cards early!

Holiday Tissue Box Cover

I made this tissue box cover late last year and never posted it because I had entered it for publication in a magazine. Well, I guess they didn't like it because it never made it into print. Oh well, their loss, LOL!

All images are from Pattie's Creations. All of them were digitally colored by me, and background paper was digitally created by me. I put a different image on each of 4 sides. The top has an embossed paper with some glitter Christmas trees and snowflake buttons. I also added white paper that was punched with a Martha Stewart grass border punch. I turned it upside down to create an icicle effect, and added glitter for more dimension.

Cute little guy, isn't he! This Christmas tag is my second entry in CDAC Progressive Challenge 7. The crab image is from Tiffany Doodles. The Santa hat is from Wink Wink Ink. The image and background was digitally colored by me. I added the name 'Crabby Claws' to his hat, and the words HO HO HO to the bottom. Some special effects finished it with some bubbles. I diecut all three papers, and the white paper was embossed with circles. The red ribbon completes this tag!

Sweets for my Honey!

I made this triangular shaped box as my first entry for CDAC Progressive Challenge 7. The image is from Sew Many Cards. You can find the tutorial at Splitcoast Stampers. I digitally colored the image and digitally added a landscape background. The sentiment, Sweets for my Honey, was diecut with a scalloped die, and mounted on DP diecut with an oval. I added 2 cute little bee stickies to the oval. Inside I added some gumballs, but will switch that to some chocolate jelly sticks for my hubby Frank's birthday December 6th!

Vintage Gothic ATC Swap Group A

Now, this was a fun theme to work with. I found the image on the Internet, is she scary or what! My base is a heavy cardstock covered with a lightweight black cardstock. I digitally created my background DP of the Grim Reaper. You can't see it in the photo, but I added a shimmer mist to the picture and it looks so cool! At the corners I added some spiders and confetti spiderwebs to finish the ATC.

Vintage Halloween ATC Swap Group C

Another scary creation and this Vintage Halloween print was found on the Internet. My base is a heavy cardstock covered with a lightweight black cardstock. I digitally created my DP from a Witch clipart. At the corners of the image I added an orange sequin with a black gem in the center.

Christmas Snowman

The theme for Pattie's Creations Challenge #34 is 'Christmas'. This runs for 3 weeks ending on December 15th, so there is still plenty of time to grab a freebie over there and enter a creation!

Above is my DT creation using Pattie's image 'Snowman 1'. This card will go to my niece Stephanie and her family.

Details: Heavy white CS as the base. I typed the words 'Merry Christmas Santa - With Love - From Frosty' on a blue background and diecut with a Nestie. I used a smaller die for cutting the image. The image was digitally colored by me, and I applied a swirling blue background fill. I used a Shimmer Spritz in Sparkle over the entire card front, then added some snowflakes with blue gem centers to finish it off.

Pattie's Birthday!

At Pattie's Creations Challenge this week, our theme for #33 is Birthdays OR Thanksgiving. Since my sister Pattie's birthday is November 16th, and mine is November 19th, it just had to be a Birthday card for my DT creation.

The 'Cupcake with Hearts' image is from Pattie's Creations. The background paper is a digital paper from Bearly Mine Designs that I had won in a challenge. It's from the Spring Mix Collection of 6 x 6 digital papers. Check her site for Freebie papers too! Next, I used a scalloped circle die on a shimmery Ivory cardstock. I then created a Word file with the words Happy Birthday repeating in white with a hot pink background. I also used a scalloped circle die on it. The image was digitally colored by me and die cut using Spellbinders Labels Twenty-three die. I added a light tan ink to the edges and finished with a shimmer spritz spray. To finish the card I added an embellishment Stick pin/charm that came from someone in an ATC Swap as a bonus bling.

Attitude, that's the theme for the challenge at Quirky Crafts Challenge. I was chosen as a Guest DT, and was given 5 images from the Stamping Boutique. For my card I used the image titled Emo-Alice.

My thought was that this would make a great card for a mother or father from their daughter. Of course it would be considered a humorous card, and a sample inside sentiment might be something like this, 'Thanks for letting me be me'. I'm sure there are other words that could be added, but you get the idea. What do you think, I'd like to hear it in the comments!

Oh, I almost forgot. I had digitally colored the image differently, but my husband thought it wasn't bright enough. So, I'm posting it here too and you can be the judge!

For my creation I made a Halloween Lantern/Luminaria. It was a snap to make just by using 3D embellies and an orange Chinese takeout container. I cut a hole in the bottom for the battery-operated tea light, and a hole behind the pumpkin for the tea light to shine through. Super Easy!

Autumn Colors Gatefold

Today's creation is for Pattie's Creations Challenge #32 with a theme choice of Halloween or Autumn Colors. I used Pattie's image 'Apples in Basket'.

I digitally colored the image and after printing I added a sparkle shimmer mist to it. The base is a super heavy CS in Ivory with a plaid DP. I used a circle diecut on the image and placed it on a scalloped circle diecut of the heavy cardstock. For the anchor to hold the card closed, I used a silver brad with a Sun face charm.

On the inside, I used a recipe as my sentiment. My sister Pattie gave me a Pfaltzgraff deep dish pie plate with the recipe printed on it for Christmas quite some time ago. She found the recipe from a Good Housekeeping Cookbook. You can't see it in the photo, but I added a glittery autumn leaf to cover the backside of the brad.

Vintage Christmas ATC Swap Group C

Yeah I know he looks a little angry, but I love this Vintage Santa print and how it came out. I found the print on the Internet. My base is a heavy cardstock that I embossed with a brocade design. I put red glitter to accentuate the holly berries on his cap. I added a sentiment that I matched the image piece for the background, and typed 'Olde St. Nick', then finished it with 2 gold embellies. The outer edges of the cardstock was distressed for effect.

This ATC is for the CDAC Swap 12 Group C hosted by Chris Hanselman.

Vintage Christmas ATC Swap Group A

I made my ATC as a card format with the photo on the left as the front, and the photo on the right as the inside of the ATC card. I put them on a heavy cardstock that I had embossed with a snowflake design. Both photos are from the Internet. I also found a decoupage art on the internet and I created it as a DP for my background on the front. I put a poinsettia flower and leaf together and a dew drop for the center. I dabbed the flower with some goldleaf paint for effect. I also distressed the cardstock edges to give it more of a vintage look.

This ATC is for Group A of CDAC Swap 12 hosted by Chris Hanselman.

Extras for each package is to use a base and add Christmas DP, not vintage. I made my own digital DP with images from Pattie's Creations.

Halloween Centerpiece

I'm back today from our break at Pattie's Creations Challenge. We took a little extended time-off from the challenge to give the new DT a chance to get their feet wet and get their creations ready.

The theme for Challenge #31 is Halloween. I wanted to do something different, so I came up with a centerpiece complete with candy corn filled test tubes, and plastic eyeballs mounted on the end of Halloween designed pencils. My image on the front is 'Witch Pattieboop and Cauldron'. As always, I digitally colored it and added some eyeballs rising from the cauldron and a cute little ghost too.

Challenge #30 at Pattie's Creations Challenge is up and running with a theme of 'Girlie Things'. For my DT creation, I made an Explosion Box for our niece Nikki's 30th Birthday. The tutorial is at splitcoast stampers, but I altered the measurements to make a bigger one. On the Lid you'll see the digitally colored image I made with such cool digital bubbles. The lid's edge has a turquoise with white dotted ribbon. I made another digital bubble with the number 30 superimposed. A scalloped circle die was used to cut it and I placed it on the front of the box. On the inside, the center panel has my main sentiment. To the left is the word 'RELAX' and to the right the words complete as 'It's only a number!'. I wanted to tie the image theme with those sentiments together. I am adding a small bottle of blowing bubbles as a gag gift.

Hello Ladies, I have someone that I not only need you to pray for, but I'm hoping you would be willing to try and help out. I'm sure that a lot of you know Karen, or better known as Krafty Karen. Well she is having a really hard time right now medically. She has major problems in her spine that causes her to have non-stop excruciating pain. If you go to this Blog it explains, in her own words, what is happening to her and what this lady, Wendy, is trying to do to help her. So what I am asking you to do is 1) go to Wendy's blog and see what she has to say 2) if you are able to help out with her fund raiser (she is trying to get people to buy kits that Karen has designed...and they are only $1.50 USD), please do 3) Please spread the word of this to others so that she can get as much help as possible and 4) Please pray for her that she gets the help that she so desperately needs. There is also a link on Wendy's sidebar if you just want to donate instead of the kits, it's up to you.

There are so many of us out there and what Wendy is asking is not out of the realm of possibility. If we each told our friends about this and if we each bought one kit, imagine how much good we could do for this wonderful lady. Thank you all so much in advance.

Today's theme at Pattie's Creations Challenge #29 is 'Birthdays'. I made an Easel card as my DT creation. Our niece, Stephanie, is having a birthday on the 31st! I digitally colored the image and added a sentiment on the front. At the corners I added gemstones that happen to be her birthstone of Peridot. On the inside I placed my sentiment and added 3 dew drops as my anchors. I'm going to tape a balloon (not inflated, LOL) to the inside of the easel card.

Today's theme at Pattie's Creations Challenge #28 is 'Animals or Insects'. My DT creation is an explosion box. I digitally colored the image and used a border punch for the lid. On the front I put glittery letters. On the inside, the center panel is my main sentiment. Below that is the panel with the balloons and stars embellies. Directly opposite is a panel with a sentiment followed by a button. How cute is that! I am adding a small bag of animal crackers/cookies and Gavin's birthday cash to the inside of the box!

The theme for the current drawing challenge at CDAC is 'Things that Hang'. So, I made a Christmas ornament with a Santa face as my entry. This took me a long time to do, which is why I only entered once before. So without further ado, here's my entry for the challenge, and it's called 'Christmas Ball Santa'.

Today's creation is a tissue box cover with a Yoga theme. My massage therapist, who is also a Yoga instructor, is graduating from Nursing School and I thought she would like this little gift. Do you remember (if you're my age) the game called 'Operation'? Well, that's going to be an added gift for her, and I think she'll get a kick out of it!

Here are my details for this creation: The tutorial can be found at Splitcoast Stampers, and what I've found is best to do is measure your papers with a ruler and mark it before cutting. From my experience with my cutter, previous boxes either had a tight fit with the lids or something else was off. So, take it from me when I say measure with a ruler, mark it, and then cut your paper, you'll be glad that you did.

My DP is from a paper pack that I got at Tuesday Morning called The Glitter Stack. The lid is a textured CS. I added a ribbon to the lid instead of using a DP or border punch.

On the Front View, I placed a shimmery Ivory CS that was diecut, embossed, and edges inked, then placed at an angle behind the main image. The digital image is from Firecracker Designs by Pamela, which I've had for quite some time. I digitally colored the cute little octopus, and then I searched for papers that would coordinate with the coloring of the image. I added the word 'Namaste', which I think means to bow or bend with palms together, behind the image and it was done with the same colors that were in the octopus. Again, I used a square diecut and lightly inked the edges.

On the Top View, I added a shimmery Ivory CS that was diecut and embossed. Then I finished it with color coordinating flowers that are raised with 3D foam dots.

On the Side View 1, is a clipart symbol meaning 'Om', that hum like sounding chant.

On the Side View 2, is clipart that I think is the Lotus position. By now you should have guessed that I don't do Yoga!

On the Back View, I placed coordinated colors of Martha Stewart's Butterfly punch. I don't think it has anything to do with Yoga, but it looks pretty!

Birthday for a Guy

Today's creation is a birthday card for a guy. The 'Pocketwatch' image is from Pattie's Creations. I used Spellbinders Grand Labels Eleven for the shape of the card and the DP. The DP was digitally created by me using the Pocketwatch image uncolored and repeating the words 'Birthday Time'. It was printed on an Ivory CS. Next, I placed a black ribbon with stitching and 2 brass brads in a satin finish. I used a gold shimmery CS and cut with an oval die. Then using an ivory CS I also cut with an oval die and embossed with a dotted swiss folder. Lastly, I digitally colored the image, handcut and raised with 3D foam dots. Today's Easel card is for our great-nephew's birthday in September. Isn't this Lion image adorable! He's from Nana Vic's, a freebie titled 'Baby Lion' over at CDAC in her Vickie's Quickies discussion.

Card Details: My card base is Kraft CS. My DP was purchased at Big Lots from Pressed Petals paper pack titled 'Excursion', with a jungle theme throughout. Spellbinders Dies used: Grand Labels Eleven and Classic Scalloped Circles Large. I digitally colored the image in a Corel program. The edges of the scallop were inked with a Color Box shade called 'Dune'. My cloud sentiment was made in Word. I keep finding new features in Word that I never knew were there, like that cloud Callout under the Shapes tool. On the inside I used a cork button as my anchor, but I'm finding that my paper is too heavy and doesn't stay upright when open. I might have to improvise and add a support to the back portion of the easel.

Challenge 27 is up and running over at Pattie's Creations Challenge, and the theme is to have stitching, real or faux on your project. My image is called 'Strawberries in Basket' from Pattie's Creations. My sentiment is from Raindrop Echo Designs.

Card Details: The bottom layer is a red CS that I added faux stitching with a white pen. Next I digitally created my plaid DP. I added a red ribbon with white edging and white polka dots. I used a scalloped circle die for my shimmery white CS and embossed with a dotted swiss folder. I digitally colored the image and added a plaid design in the background. I used a smaller scalloped circle die on the image. The left upper corner has 3 silver hot fix metal pieces. To finish the card I placed the sentiment in an oval on the bottom corner.

This is my second ATC Swap at CDAC that I have signed up for. The theme for this one is Vintage and it was a little challenging for me. Both images are from Nicecrane Designs.

The first image is titled 'Gloucester', isn't he adorable! The second image is from a CS titled 'Women's Painting 2'. I converted it to warm tones and sepia to give it that vintage look.

Common elements: I used a heavy cardboard as my base for all. My base DP is from Recollections titled 'Elegance' and I inked the outer edges. I then used a Gold shimmery CS.

On the mouse ATC, I then added a DP that is a digital background fill from my program that looks like a rose brocade fabric, printed and inked the outer edges. That same fill was placed before the mouse, then given a canvas texture, and followed with placement of the mouse image. Some text 'a stitch in time saves nine' was repeated and printed on ivory CS and dabbed with ink. Next, I used a Spellbinders die titled 'Floral Doily Motifs' that has 6 different dies, and for that I used a shimmery ivory CS. Lastly, I placed a small rose colored pearl on the die piece.

On the ATC with the Lady and dog, I added a DP that is also a digital that looks like fabric, and added ink to the outer edges. Next I placed my image. My flowers (2 different bases) are digitally created to look like mosaic tile, printed on CS and punched with a 5 petal flower. I curled the petal edges of the paper, then mounted to the flower bases, one is from Petaloo. In the center I placed a large pearl. On the bottom right I finished the ATC with 2 smaller champagne colored pearls.

Today's card is for a friend of ours with a birthday in August. I've been getting a jump on birthday cards early, since I will probably start on Christmas cards in September.

Image is from Nana Vic's and is part of NV - Birthday Set 2 that consists of wordart and images combined.

Card Details: Bottom layer is a bright yellow CS followed by a digitally created DP from the image. Next is a dotted swiss DP with the image digitally colored by me. I added a black with white stitching ribbon and 3 buttons, black, white, and bright yellow to finish the card.

Card Details: The bottom layer is a pale lavendar CS followed by a striped DP digitally created by me. I used a scalloped circle die on purple CS and embossed with a dotted swiss folder. The image was digitally created by me and I added a background fill with a pastel design from Fred She Said. I then gave it a canvas texture overall. I used a smaller scalloped circle die on the image. Next I added a sheer purple ribbon and bling for effect. To finish the card I placed 3 hot fix irridescent gems in the upper corner, opposite the sentiment.

Today's creation is for my Guest DT spot at Amber's Crafts and Stuff. The challenge theme is to use only Black, Grey, and White. I chose a Butterfly image from my sister Pattie of Pattie's Creations.

Card Details: The bottom layer is a light grey CS, followed by a black CS. Next is a shimmery white CS that I embossed with a musical notes folder. The image was digitally colored by me with a gradient dissolve fill in the background, and then I gave it a canvas texture look. I added some diamond glitter to small portions of the wings. To finish it I placed rhinestone and black gems at opposite corners for effect.

What a fun project this turned out to be! It's for the current sketch challenge 27 at CDAC and is sponsored by Pattie's Creations. Pattie (my sister) provided the image called 'Mushroom Birdhouse' and a sketch.

My card details: Bottom layer is Kraft CS. The next layer is a yellow plaid design digitally printed by me. I placed a shimmery yellow and white ribbon next. My angled piece is Kraft CS with dotted swiss embossing. The image is digitally colored by me and I added 2 border rules. To the left I placed 3 glittery foam stickies and added 3 puffy bird stickies. My sentiment was created in Word inside an oval which a ruled border was also added.

Can you guess our challenge 25 theme at Pattie's Creations Challenge? Do you give up? Okay, the theme is 'Your Country's Flag Colors'! Yep that's right. Since I'm from New Jersey and it's in the United States, I went with Red, White, and Blue. Okay, there's a little yellow in the candle flame.

My card details: Bottom layer is a white CS. Next I used a fill with a pattern of stars to create my DP in my computer program. The image is called 'Cupcake' and it is a Freebie from Pattie. Stickles glitter glue was added to the candle flame.

I made a sentiment in Word, added red, white, and blue gemstones at 3 corners, and finished the card with an American Flag button that I raised with 3D foam dots.

This is another creation for Gianna's birthday. The image is a combination of a pre-colored and partly digitally colored by me. I colored the castle and used the pre-colored trees and landscape. Image is from Doodle Pantry. Where the card folds, I handcut the castle towers for a better effect. I added a glittery letter 'G' as an anchor, and added the sentiment, as shown above.

Time for another Vickie's Quickies Challenge over at Nana Vic's group at CDAC! Vickie gave us this cute little image which is a collaboration between Vickie and Bex. Sexy little bird, isn't he!

Card Details: Base is a black CS. Next layer is a DP that I digitally created with an image from Not Just Mum. I found the image last year and just got around to being able to use it. I found a pic on the Internet of some owl feathers and I printed them out and tucked them under the image. In my stash I only have blue colored feathers, so this was the next best thing. I then placed my digitally colored image with my own sentiment composed with it. Finally, I put some Crackle Accents on the falling rose petal to finish my card!

Today's Challenge 24 at Pattie's Creations Challenge is Summertime using a photo for inspiration. You can use it for color, summer playtime, water scenes, or however it means to you. I incorporated 2 images to create a fun summertime creation. I picked colors from the photo also. The 2 girls in the photo are my greatnieces, Maddy and Samantha (aka Sam), and they are also Pattie's grandaughters.

The gift tag above has an image from Bugaboo Digital Stamps. I think it's adorable, and I colored this one almost a year ago, and finally found a home for it!

A Cowboy's Dream Gift! (EDITED)

I thought the title would catch your eye! Today's card is for an upcoming Birthday of a relative who could have been a cowboy in a past life.

There are 2 images here from different artists. The gift package is from Pattie's Creations, and the Cowgirl is from Kenny K titled 'Mae Western'.

My base is a black CS, followed by digitally created DP. I diecut black CS with a deckled edge rectangle die and placed next. I digitally colored my images and matched the DP on certain areas of the images. My combined images were placed with 3D foam dots for dimension. I created a sentiment in Word, and added a cowboy leather hat and a lasso from twine as my embellishments. A little gold glitter on the gun handle and her sheriff's badge completes my project!

I finished the inside of the card with an additional image. This one is from Stitchy Bear Stamps.

Images of the sandcastle, beach umbrella, and Nemo are from the Internet. My main digital image is 'Olive' from Michelle Perkett. The seashells and background paper are photos of my personal work.

I also made a refrigerator magnet that has a picture of Gianna taken at Easter time.

Let's not forget 'sparkle' and 'shine' with a lot of glitter glue!

My husband asked me last night if I could make a card for a new baby girl. First I looked in my image files to see if I had one already digitally colored, since it would make the card go so much faster. Then I remembered the pre-colored image from Wink Wink Ink titled 'Blossom Baby'. You can find Melanie's homepage on Facebook. It should have been the first thing that came to mind since I've used this image a number of times. I added a clouds background to the image and a ruled border. On the base is a pink CS. Next I embossed a white CS with an alphabet embossing folder. I placed my image and added 2 sheer pink bows at the bottom and it's done! I found a short sentiment for the inside of the card to complete it.

Today I have a card that I made for Frank, my husband, for Father's Day. He was disappointed that I never made an Easter card for him. To be honest, I only made them for the greatnieces and greatnephews. So now I never hear the end of it, yikes!

My image is from Shelly's Images called 'Knight'. I had my sentiment in mind, and when I saw the quality of the image from Shelly, I had to have it!

I digitally colored the image in my program Corel PSPP X3. The color red was definitely going to be part of the horse's blanket or silks. I'm pleased with my color choices, and I'm partial to Palomino colored horses. My base cardstock is a tan color. Next I used a navy blue CS that I embossed with a new larger folder called 'Kassie's Brocade'. I think it goes perfectly with the theme. I added 4 Epoxy stickers at the corners from a set called 'Prince'. My sentiment was done in Word with a font called 'Rennaisance'. Two Hot-fix silver gems were placed on the sentiment edges. I think that's all this card needs to keep it manly looking.

It's time for another challenge at Pattie's Creations Challenge. Today's theme is a choice of either Weddings or Father's Day. This is my entry as DT Coordinator. I made this for a Bridal Shower, nobody in particular but I hope when I use it that they have a sense of humor!

The image that I used is called 'Toaster with Toast'.

Card Details: Pink CS, Bachelorette Party DP, sheer shimmer 2-tone ribbon, image raised with dimensional dots, and a sentiment with pink Viva dots.

Note Cards for a Gift

I am so liking the idea of including some note cards as a gift, sometimes in addition to another gift. The cards today have Pre-colored images from Fred She Said. This image is her Peony flower in 8 different colors as part of the set. Tracey has some amazing images, including her pre-colored ones. Her coloring is so realistic looking in regards to lighting and shading. Super work from her.

Instead of tying the cards together with ribbon, I used DP in a contrasting color to band them.

Our greatnephew Zach will be 13 on June 21st, and since I had it ready early I decided to post it now. The image I used here is from Marlo Dee Digital Stamps. When I saw this image with the number 13 on the player's jersey, I knew that was the one to use! I digitally colored in my program, Corel PSPP X3. My base is a blue CS, followed by a red CS. Next, I embossed white CS and layered my image with 3D foam dots. My sentiment was done in Word, and also raised with 3D foam dots.

A Birthday Banana Split!

The banana split sundae image is a Freebie from Nana Vic as part of her CDAC challenge, Vickie's Quickies! The tutorial for the step card can be found here at Shelly's Images. The die-cut image is from Fred She Said. I colored the image in Corel PSPP X3. I added Glossy Accents to the cherries, and 3D fabric glitter paint on the whipped cream toppings. My green striped paper was also created in the Corel program. I used a white shimmery cardstock that I embossed with swiss dots. My own sentiment was made in Word. Our birthday wishes will go on the back of the card.

This is an easy project to do. You get 2 printed sheets to create your own folded bookmark. Also included is an instruction guide showing step by step photos. Finished folded size is 2" by 5". The pack includes 2 options: A ready to use inside panel with sentiment included, or you can use a second panel that lets you add your own sentiment or quote. This is the third of a series of six folded bookmarks.

I chose the inside panel that let me add my own quotes. I found 2 quotes on the internet that are from Alice in Wonderland.

The theme for Pattie's Creations Challenge #22 is 'NO, NO, NO CARDS', also known as 'Anything but a card'. The image I chose is called 'Gumball Machine'. I had these little apothecary jars on hand and Voila, a party favor was born!

I digitally colored the image, and used a circle punch. I added some red ink to the edges of the circle for effect. Next is the red rickrack ribbon (not sure if that's what it's called). Lastly, I added some gumballs strategically placed in the jar. Boy, talk about obsessive behaviour (aka OCD)! My husband bought this HUGE container of gumballs from BJ's and I have no clue what to do with the rest of them.

I wanted to give it a try to create my own folded bookmark from scratch. Since I've already put together 2 folded bookmarks from Nicecrane Designs, I knew what my measurements should be. All images are from Nicecrane Designs. The flowers image was a freebie and the ladies are from 'Women's Painting Vol. II' Collage Sheet. They were images in color, and I played around in my program until I got the Vintage look that I wanted. I put a strip of pearls at the top of the Front and Back cover, instead of putting a ribbon or tassel. The pearls are intended to sit at the edge of a book page of where you leave off reading. Yes, the wording on the inside was also created by me. I hope everyone who sees this one likes it!

Put your sunglasses on! Yes I know it's quite colorful and bright, that's the look I was going for! This card is for a challenge at Glitterbabe's CDAC group. The challenge is called ' Fun with Capital Letters # 3'. A sketch (hand drawn by Theresa) and an image supplied by Stef is part of the challenge.

I digitally colored the image and layered it onto a frame image from Fred She Said, that I filled with clouds.

Our friend Lucy is having her 80th Birthday the end of the month! She doesn't look her age at all. Atlantic City and slot machines are a favorite of hers, especially if she wins, LOL. The image I used is called 'Slot Mama' from PriscillaStyles. As soon as I saw the image in her store, the wheels started turning in my head for a themed card. I digitally colored the image, actually this is my second version. The first one I colored (which I liked), my husband said it wasn't bright enough. So I had to start from scratch. The images I used are from Shelly's Images, titled 'Watering Can' and 'Feather Friend'. As always, I digitally colored both. As a final touch, I used a Martha Stewart corner punch, that gave it the little extra pizzazz.

Today's theme at Pattie's Creations Challenge #21 is to make a creation for a child with a child's name on it. Well, our great niece Cassidy celebrated her 5th Birthday on April 25th, but I had to wait for our challenge to be up before I could post her card.

Card Details: Hidden is a pale pink CS. I topped it with a pink fabric paper (I don't know the name of it) that came in a Scrapper's Pack. Then I added a deeper rose colored fabric paper and pulled some of the fibers at the edges. I placed a strand of white fiber also from the pack. I added the image with composed sentiment by me. A little glitter on the background design was added. I placed 4 small fabric flowers and added hot fix gems to the centers.

Our nephew Tom's birthday is May 24th and once I saw this coffee image, I knew it was the one to use. This image titled 'Cupfull' is perfect because he loves coffee, but it has to have a Hazelnut flavored creamer! Yay, I got to use my new Kreaxions Circle Cutter that I won from my friend Bev! I still need to get a scalloped circle die, but it's not a priority on my list of things. As always, I digitally colored the image. I used a rubber stamp 'Party' that I got from another friend, Stef H of Glitterbabe. Lastly, I used Inkssentials Glossy Accents on the coffee part of the mug.

Our nephew Jeff's birthday is May 5th and I was struggling for an image to use. This image titled 'Sudz' doesn't look like him at all (he'll be happy to hear that), but he does like his beer! Yay, I got to use my new Kreaxions Circle Cutter that I won from my friend Bev! I still need to get a scalloped circle die, but it's not a priority on my list of things. As always, I digitally colored the image. I used a rubber stamp 'Party' that I got from another friend, Stef H of Glitterbabe. I used a Tulip brand Glitter dimensional fabric paint for the foam on the beer mug.

This Duck family image is one of my sister Pattie's newer images. I thought it would be the perfect focal point for a Mother's Day card. We've got some beautiful DT creations over at Pattie's Creations Challenge #20, so head on over and have a look.

Card Details: A light yellow CS as my base. Next is a green CS that I added a sheer shimmery yellow and green 2-tone ribbon. Next I added my digitally colored and composed image. I placed hot fix gems at 3 corners and finished the last corner with a dimensional stickie flower with a center gem.

Masculine Birthday

Today I've made a card for a masculine birthday. DP and Peacock paper from Nicecrane Designs. The DP is from his Time Machine 6x6 papers, paper #2, a collection of 8 papers. The Peacock is cardstock from a collection of 8 ATC sized titled Pheasant World CS. I enhanced the Peacock paper in Corel with effects to make the colors intense, and added a textured linen effect to it. From the bottom is brown CS. Next is the Time Machine #2 paper. I raised the Peacock paper with 3D dots. At the 4 corners I placed gold metallic gems. Then I finished the card with an embossed wording 'Happy Birthday', which I used a gold glitter pen on the letters and I inked the edges with an olive green color.

I have 2 male family members with birthdays in May, so I hope this one gets my husband's stamp of approval. He'll see it tomorrow, keep your fingers crossed!

CDAC Class for Stained Glass Effect

Today's creation is for a class over at CDAC. It's all about making a digital or stamped image to look like it's stained glass. I had difficulty finding the recommended computer transparent film to use. So, I used what I have in my supplies. I tried an inkjet translucent or vellum paper, but all the glitter caused it to buckle. The digital image I wanted to use printed out beautifully on this paper, so I was disappointed that it didn't work.

I do have transparent film made by the same company as recommended, Grafix. I tried to digitally print, but the image wouldn't print correctly. So, my last resort was to try a stamped image, and I used black ink. Hooray, it didn't smear or buckle! I used 3 different glitter colors and 2 Viva Decor Glass Effect Gel. I have to admit, I prefer the glass effect gel's results over the glittered areas. To me it looks more like stained glass, but that's just my opinion.

I tried to make the piece look like a window, hence the sentiment 'Window to the Soul'. I used a rounded corner punch on all but the black paper frame. A little more sparkle was added with the placement of an irridescent ribbon. Silver metal gems and black metal gems were placed at 3 corners. At the 4th corner I added a rhinestone letter 'S'. I figured it could stand for Sandi, Soul, or Stained, or maybe even Sparkle and Shine!

Here we go with another Tissue Box Cover! We have our nephew's wedding this Saturday and had the clever idea of making one for the Bridal Head Table. I didn't want to use any images at all, only diecut and embossed papers. Of course it had to be entirely white too!

I started with the box itself using a shimmery ivory cardstock. After cutting all the pieces for embossing, I had to decide which folders to use. I totally forgot about the smaller folders that I have. When I saw one that reminded me of a lace border, I knew that was the one for the smaller strips on the lid. The base panels were embossed with a leaf and bird design. To finish off the box I applied 2 pearls at each corner of the lid. Oh, I almost forgot, the 2 punched hearts on the front panel is from a Martha Stewart punch! Again I used the tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers.

Tissue Box Cover

Wow, I'm really falling in love with this creation! I kept it pretty simple and had it made in no time. The image is from Nicecrane Designs titled 'Women's Painting - Vol. II'. It's one of 8 images in the series. I needed to make a tissue box cover for my bedroom, and picked colors that would coordinate with my scheme. My husband even likes it, and he hates flowers on crafts! The flowers on the top of the lid were a gift from Theresa Gerber of South Africa. I've received so many nice supplies from Tee, and these flowers have been waiting to go on a project. I had seen on someone's blog that the wires of the flowers were curly, how cool. So, I wrapped my wires around a ballpoint pen to get that curly look. The DP is from my stash. The tutorial for this can be found at Splitcoast Stampers website.

I'd like to mention that I got the ideas for making this from Darlene Pavlick at her blog. You'll have to scroll quite a bit on her site, since she does a lot of crafting posts. Enjoy the view as you scroll!! When you see her tissue box covers, you'll get some ideas and maybe get the itch to make one too!

Today's corner bookmark is titled Words of Wisdom. The image 'Love Owls' is from Nana Vic's. The tutorial for the bookmark can be found at split coast stampers.

I used green cardstock which I punched with a Martha Stewart edge. I added ribbon, pearls, and faux stitching. Image was digitally colored and mounted on a red square of cardstock. A small amount of bronze glitter was added to the red corners.

Today I've got an Easter card as my creation for Pattie's Creations Challenge #19. The theme is Easter or Spring, your choice!

My card details are: Bottom is a bright green CS. Next is a pink CS that I took out my hardly used stamps and inked some flowers in pink and purple. Normally I would use a DP or a digitally created DP, but I felt adventurous! I then puched 2 edges of a white CS with a border punch. It's the first time I tried this look, I still need a little more practice to get it perfect. Then I added a hot pink thin ribbon and topped that with lavendar pearl clusters. Finally my colored digital image was added. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I used a corner punch on both cardstocks!

Wow, no digital image to color! I wasn't sure where I was going when I started to make this wedding card. I knew that I wanted both Ivory and White CS for it. The front and back (not shown) are both cardstocks. I added an irridescent white ribbon that the camera picked up some pink specks. Next I added a scalloped oval that I also used a dotted swiss embossing folder on. I raised it up with foam dots. The next part is easy, it's a Jolee Dimensional sticker of a gorgeous wedding cake.

On the inside, I printed out my sentiment and used a deckled edge rectangular die. I inked the edges with a pale pink color. I raised the sentiment panel with thick foam dots. At the bottom I placed a strip of white CS that I applied a border punch to. I added some paper butterflies that were remnants from another punch. I finished with adding irridescent glitter to the butterflies. Butterflies happen to be the Bride's favorite thing!
